Day One in Cordoba

The train ride to Cordoba from Seville is a quick 45 minute trip.  I found it interesting to see, what I believed to be, many huge fields of Mandarin oranges.  Google confirmed my suspicions and taught me that the Spaniards have indeed been planting Mandarins and similar species of oranges and that theses varieties make up a large part of their orange production.  In fact, the Spanish citrus industry has a long and worldwide tradition even if yours truly was oblivious to it until now.

The hotel we are staying in is located in the old Jewish section near the famous Mezquita Cathedral.  After getting settled in, we went to a Jewish Museum within the very narrow winding streets of the Jewish section.  The main purpose of the museum is to explain what happened to Jewish people during the Spanish Inquisition and other inquisitions throughout history.   It goes without saying that it is not a happy place.
